Together As One To Make A Difference

Witness the power of basketball as our players become ambassadors of hope. Through community outreach initiatives, they’re not just dribbling and shooting hoops, they’re spreading smiles, inspiring dreams, and fostering unity across borders.

Welcome to CourtKicks

My name is Mason Mejia, and I am currently a sophomore at Loyola High School in Los Angeles. Last year, as part of my service project, I wanted to give back to those in need during my trip to the Philippines for a basketball tournament . I partnered with Project Joy and FilNation to collect shoes and basketballs, which I planned to distribute to underprivileged children. Just a day before flying to Manila, I broke my thumb while playing lacrosse. Although devastated, I was determined to still be a part of the experience and focused my efforts on helping others.

CourtKicks Was Born

While I was there, I attended a PBA game in Antipolo, where I met the commissioner and the mayor. They suggested I visit a local gym the following day to meet kids who didn’t have shoes or basketballs. Along with my teammate, we organized our first giving event there. A few days later, I collaborated with FilNation to host a Tenement event, where we provided shoes and basketballs to even more kids in need.

The fulfillment I felt from giving to those in need was incredible, and it inspired me and my mom to turn this into an ongoing initiative. Together, we started a charity, and that’s how CourtKicks was born.

Tenement Outreach

In the Philippines, basketball is more than just a sports-it’s a way of life. But for many children in Tenement community, even the basics, like basketball shoes, socks, and water bottles, are out of reach. These kids play barefoot on concrete courts, driven by their love for the game but lacking the essentials to play safely and comfortably.
